Sporting, recreation and cultural
groups can apply for a share of $100,000 in community grant funding. Council
has opened it Community Grants, Capital Development Program 2013/14. One off
grants of up to $50,000 are available for projects which focus on
infrastructure improvements for community facilities. Yarra Ranges Mayor Jim
Child said the grants program aimed to help community groups improve their facilities.
“I would encourage groups with a project in mind to check out the eligibility
criteria and have a go,” he said. “The grants program is an excellent
opportunity for council to provide one-off assistance to groups looking to
increase opportunities for participation within their community.”
Applications close on May 17th
with funding announcements made in June. More details on the grants program is
available online at www.yarraranges.vic.gov.au
or by calling Fiona Christopher on 1300 368 333.
